Saturn / Jupiter conjunction - December 2020

It will be a long time until the next one (we won't be around), here's hoping it's not as shown below

The weather has been rather unkind near me recently after the past few days of sunsets, it's looking a bit more promising tonight, so I will try and get a shot of them both out my window.

I am limited to a 400mm lens and as they are so low down in the sky, the atmospheric haze is likely to make them tricky to photograph, but lets give it a try.
I will post what I get as soon as it gets darker, the sun is not long down.

Ah well , size matters when it comes to trying to get a photo of the Jupiter / Saturn conjunction.
My 400mm lens really isn't big enough to get a close enough shot of Jupiter and Saturn, this is the best I could manage tonight.

You can barely make out Saturns rings, but can't see any detail of Jupiter, which was below Saturn.

I thought I'd try a little bit of video with the 400mm, before they sank into the cloud, you can see a couple of Jupiters moons twinkling away.
