24 hours on the Isle of Skye

A quick visit to a busy place in summer

24 hours on the Isle of Skye

I popped up to the Isle of Skye for a quick trip in my electric car overnight photography camping machine to try out a few modifications to the cars setup.
The weather wasn't playing ball light wise, with cloudy sunset, grey skies and next to no wind.
The lack of wind meant I came back with lots of midge bites.

I stayed overnight in the car, about 10 miles south of Portree, I got this shot early in the morning, before the tourist traffic flooded the roads in motorhomes and rental cars.

Looking North towards Portree, the harbour is hidden behind the bottom left hill.

There was some some nice light looking North East towards the mainland, but the cloud remained overhead for the rest of the day.

I ended up at Staffin and Flodigarry, almost at the top of Skye, this was Eilean Flodigarry, with the Shiant Isles in the distance and the mountains of Harris and Lewis on the horizon,

I didn't get much luck with the light, but the sheer amount of tourist traffic and the midges won't stop me going back for another trip, though I will probably wait until the schools go back.

If you are interested in how I set the EV car for photography trips, let me know in the comments and I will share the details and maybe do a wee video of it in future.
