Uig Sands on the Isle of Lewis

When it gets busy in Harris in the summer, I like to head up to Lewis to get away from the busier areas.
Uig Sands (Traigh Uig) lies on the West coast of Lewis, with vast expanses of white sand amongst the grassy dunes, which are protected from the full force of the wild Atlantic Ocean by the headland.
There is a lovely horseshoe shaped bay (top right of the photo), where I was in for a swim at the start of June.
