Applecross has a way of stealing your breath when you least expect it. One moment you’re tracing the curve of the coastline, the next you’re frozen in place, watching a herd of deer step delicately onto the beach like they own the place. They stood there framed by the sand and where the Isle of Skye rose like a dream in the background
It felt like the whole world had slowed down for my brief stop there for a coffee and a break from driving.
There was something quietly surreal about it all. The stillness, the light, it was as if nature had staged the moment just for me. No lens can ever truly capture that moment, that flicker of connection between wild creatures and the wild landscape. But I took the shot anyway, knowing it would carry the memory, even if only a whisper of the real thing.
